    About Baby Steps

We are more than just a daycare. We are a family of educators dedicated to nurturing the next generation with love, patience, and joy.

    Our Story

Baby Steps Daycare was founded with a simple but profound mission: to create a home away from home for children in Glenwood and the surrounding communities. We recognized the need for a childcare facility that didn't just supervise children, but actively engaged them in meaningful, play-based learning.

Over the years, we've grown from a small neighborhood center into a state-of-the-art early childhood education facility. However, our core philosophy remains unchanged. We believe that every child is unique, capable, and deserving of a nurturing environment where they can safely explore their world.

    Our Core Values

These principles guide everything we do, from designing our curriculum to hiring our staff.

    Compassion

We approach every child with empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard.

    Safety

Physical and emotional safety are the non-negotiable foundations of our care.

    Curiosity

We foster a love of learning by encouraging children to ask questions and explore.

    Community

We partner with parents to create a supportive village for every family.

    Leadership

    Meet Our Director

    Elizabeth Lockett, M.Ed.

With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education, Mrs. Lockett brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for child development to Baby Steps Daycare.

"My goal has always been to create an environment where children feel completely safe to be themselves. When a child feels secure and loved, their capacity to learn and grow is truly limitless. We treat every child who walks through our doors as if they were our own."
